Cavity Wall Insulation Safety for Installers

CIGA

Our ACOP (Approved Code of Practice) course has been developed by SWAT Gas Ltd in collaboration with CIGA (The Cavity Wall Insulation Guarantee Agency) and some of the UK's leading insulation installation companies.

The course has been designed to educate insulation installers about the potential dangers of cavity wall insulation in buildings where combustible fuel appliances are located. The training makes candidates aware of the implications of blocked flues and ventilators on gas and other appliances.

It is a one-day awareness course, during which a mixture of practical and theoretical activities are undertaken. Following this, candidates complete a small theory test. On successful completion, the candidate is awarded a certificate of competency.

Subjects covered include:

  • Combustion
  • Ventilation
  • Gas Safety Regulations
  • Appliance Identification
  • Unsafe Situations
  • Risk Assessments

Courses are completed in our training centre and can be booked for individuals or whole company groups.
